Shark fin VASE

This sculptural layered glass vase - nicknamed “Płetwa Rekina” (Shark Fin) - was produced by Poland’s Tarnowiec Glassworks in the 1970s. Hand-formed and made from soda-lime glass coloured in mass, the piece features dramatic rim projections and a layered structure that gives it depth and luminosity.
An evocative relic of Eastern Bloc modernism, this vase was circulated during socialist-era trade and is now appreciated across the region as a shared symbol of mid-century design heritage.
