Large FLOOR VASE by Ágoston Simó _ 1335
Large FLOOR VASE by Ágoston Simó _ 1335
This large pebble vase by Ágoston Simó (1925–2011) is a powerful example of his sculptural approach to ceramics. Formed from high-fired chamotte clay with a matte, mineral surface, the piece embodies his signature “kavicsváza” concept - vessels shaped like naturally weathered stones.
Organic in contour and grounded in weight, the form feels both elemental and deliberate. The raw texture, earthy tones, and quiet monumentality make it as much a sculptural presence as a functional floor vase. A strong, tactile work from one of Hungary’s most respected studio ceramicists.
