Géza Gorka Losonczi BOWL - Iparművészeti Vállalat Edition _ 1303
This ceramic bowl, designed by Géza Gorka for the Iparművészeti Vállalat, reflects the artist’s signature approach of combining organic texture with functional form.
The outer surface is coated in a graphite-grey glaze, while the interior features a textured, three-dimensional grey-green glaze enriched with the Losonczi pattern. The layered surface treatment gives the bowl a dynamic, almost living quality, where light interacts with the relief and subtle tonal shifts.
Produced in series yet finished by hand, each piece carries slight variations in glaze and texture, making every example unique.
Géza Gorka (1894-1971) played a key role in bridging studio ceramics and industrial production, bringing expressive, artist-led design into everyday objects. Despite series production, each bowl remains unique due to hand-applied glazes and firing variations.
A collectible piece with strong sculptural and material character, both functional and deeply rooted in Hungary’s design heritage.
