Ceramic VASE with teal textured crackle glaze _ 1387

This ceramic vase from the Hódmezővásárhely Majolica Factory reflects the distinctive material language of one of Hungary’s most important 20th-century ceramic centers.
Founded as a state company in 1950, the factory built on strong regional folk traditions while developing a modern ceramic vocabulary. Designers such as Gyula Végvári and János Fekete contributed to a synthesis of vernacular motifs and contemporary form.
The exterior is finished in a turquoise crackle-effect glaze, while the interior is coated in graphite glaze. The piece shows visible cracking, consistent with age and use.
A tactile, expressive object carrying both material character and the traces of time.
