Béla Mihály HANGING POT _ 1439
This hanging planter by Béla Mihály (1930-2001) takes the form of a flattened disc with a narrow neck, punctuated by larger, irregular openings across the body. These perforations allow plants to emerge through the form, creating a living, evolving composition.
The interior is finished in a deep graphite glaze, contrasting with the more textured exterior surface. The overall structure feels both controlled and organic a balance between geometry and growth.
Mihály’s work often explores how objects interact with space, and in this case, with living material. The vessel becomes a framework rather than a container.
