Acorn STORAGE BOWL _ 843
Acorn STORAGE BOWL _ 843
This unique faience piece from Magyarszombatfa reimagines the traditional acorn-shaped shooter tumbler form, merging four individual vessels into one sculptural whole. Once used for serving, the forms now interlock like clustered acorns, transformed into a storage object or a set of small bowls, yet still carrying the rhythm and warmth of shared rural life.
The design draws from the heritage of the Magyarszombatfa Kerámia Factory, where craft and cultural memory were inseparable. Families such as the Zsohár and Czúgh lineages preserved generations of ceramic knowledge, giving rise to a manufactory that flourished before and during the Kádár era. Their creations - from household ceramics to stove tiles and lamp shades - reflect a deep understanding of form, texture, and the poetry of use.
This merged acorn vessel is more than a functional or decorative piece: it is a quiet echo of Hungary’s material culture, where everyday objects embody both ingenuity and sentiment. Preserved through Finecut, it stands as a testament to how tradition can evolve while holding its roots intact.
